HANDCRAFTED UNIQUE THAI TEAK BOOKMARK TUSKED ASIAN BULL ELEPHANT #1
While on a trip upcountry in Northern Thailand I came across a young Thai girl who was making these wonderful teak bookmarks. Her work is that of a true artist and would complement any book it was used in.
The Elephant is the national symbol of Thailand, elephants have been a important part of Thai life for 2000 years plus. In the past elephants were the work horses of the Kingdom, and while some still are still used for work today, most are now being kept, cared for, and honored by the Thai people. Thailand is one of the few places in the world that still has wild elephants living in the jungles.
All bookmarks are new and unused. Design #1 features a handcrafted Asian Thai bull elephant. Done in 3D on a background of natural teakwood and measures 7 1/2" long by 1 1/2" wide. On the top three inches is a bull elephant head done in 3D, the bottom 4 1/2" is open so you can mark your place in the book.
