The Thai government will celebrate the 60th anniversary of His Majesty the King of Thailand’s coronation on May 5. King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand is beloved by the people and respected by the world. He is the longest serving living monarch in the world. He has dedicated his live to Thailand and the Thai people. He has personally taking charge of hundreds of projects to design to improve the lives of the Thai people. When crowned King of Thailand on 5 May 1950 at the Royal Palace in Bangkok where he pledged that he would “reign with righteousness for the benefit and happiness of the Siamese people”

Unlike many royals throughout the world he, doesn’t like to use his wealth and power for his personal gain.  Forbes Magazine lists him as being the most wealth monarch in the world with a personal fortune estimated at thirty five billion dollars.  Instead he works for his people and because of this he is the most respected person in all of Thailand. The king was born on a Monday, so it is common to see Thais showing their love and respect by wearing shirts bearing the royal color yellow on Mondays.

Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva will personally chair the organizing committee for the celebration. It is believed move than 200,000 members of the public, Government Officials, and International Diplomats will be in attendance.

This will be the first major International event within Thailand since the Asean Summit Meeting, last month in Pattaya.  Which brings forward the question will the anti government protesters have any presence at this event? Also will this event force the Government to cancel the State of Emergency in Bangkok since it bans groups of more than five Thais for assembling in public?

As excepted Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva had decided to lift the state of emergency in Bangkok and the surrounding areas. This clears the way for groups of Thais to assemble in public allowing the celebration for the King that is in the planning. Security forces have notified the officials that the situation in Bangkok has returned to normal. The situation will be monitored and the correct auctions for the future will be taken.
